Prof. Dr. Sinem Ezgi Gülmez, MD, PhD

Prof Gülmez completed her primary, secondary, high school, university, and medical specialization training in Turkey. Between 2005 and 2007, she started her research in the field of pharmacoepidemiology at the Department of Clinical Pharmacology, University of Southern Denmark in Odense. She moved to Bordeaux in April 2007 with the invitation of the Head of the Department, Prof Nicholas Moore, and continued her research at the Pharmacoepidemiology Research Platform of the University of Bordeaux, Department of Medical Pharmacology until August 2017; She carried out projects and training activities as a "Senior Medical-Scientific Coordinator" at the European level. She also conducted scientific research projects with Universities in Turkey and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey. In 2010, she received the "University Associate Professorship in the Field of Pharmacology Science" in Turkey. In 2013, she received the highest academic diploma in France, “Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches, HDR”, which is the highest academic diploma in France. Prof. Gülmez, whose enthusiasm and curiosity for scientific research is always alive, got her PhD degree in pharmacoepidemiology in 2017 by the Eu2P Program. Prof. Gülmez, speaks English and French at professional levels and Danish at basic level. She has more than 40 international and national publications, serves as a reviewer for national and international medical journals and is the journals Clinical Therapeutics and Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety. Prof. Gülmez is currently working at Koç University School of Medicine, Department of Medical Pharmacology since September 2018. Prof. Gülmez is a member of the Turkish Pharmacology Association (TFD) and the Chairperson of the Executive Committee of the Clinical Pharmacology Working Group (KFÇG).

 

VICE-CHAIRPERSON OF THE EXECUTIVE BOARD

Professor Canan Uluoğlu, MD, PhD

Gazi University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medical Pharmacology, ANKARA, TURKEY

Prof. Dr. Canan Uluoğlu was born in Akseki/Antalya in 1966. She graduated from Gazi University Faculty of Medicine (GUTF) in 1989. She completed her doctorate at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medical Pharmacology in 1998. In 2000-2001, she worked on experimental research projects at Ferrara University, Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine, Department of Pharmacology (Ferrara-Italy) with the Academic Scholarship Program allocated by the Italian State to the Turkish State. She became an associate professor at GUTF Medical Pharmacology Department in 2003 and a professor in 2009. Between 2003 and 2018, she worked as a member and chairman of the GU Clinical Research Ethics Committee. Between 2015-2018, she worked as a scientific consultant in the Pharmaceutical Licensing Commission of the Ministry of Health, Turkey Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency. She has been a board member of TÜBİTAK/ULAKBİM Turkish Medical Directory between 2010-2014 and since 2019. Her academic interests are clinical drug research, chronopharmacology and medical education. Prof. Uluoğlu is also a faculty member at GUTF Medical Education and Informatics Department. She is married and has two children (culuoglu@yahoo.com). Prof. Uluoğlu is a member of the Turkish Pharmacology Association (TFD) and the Vice Chairperson of the Executive Board of the Clinical Pharmacology Working Group (KFÇG).

Dr. Arzu Güneş Granberg, MD, PhD

Dr. Güneş Granberg completed her specialization at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medical Pharmacology, following her medical degree from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine. She pursued her research at Uppsala University, Faculty of Medicine, Institute of Medical Sciences, Department of Clinical Pharmacology as of 2003 in Sweden, and defended her PhD thesis titled "Pharmacogenetics and Antipsychotic Treatment in Schizophrenia with Special Focus on Adverse Drug Reactions" in 2008. Dr Granberg continued her career as Pharmacogenetic Advisor and Study Physician in Early Clinical Drug Development within Cardiovascular and Gastrointestinal therapy areas at Astra-Zenaca until 2010. She then moved back to Uppsala and served as a Clinical Assessor in departments of Clinical Trials and Efficacy and Safety Approvals at the Swedish Medical Products Agency for the following 8 years. At this very active Regulatory Authority, Dr Granberg has contributed to several clinical efficacy, safety and pharmacovigilance evaluations as well as scientific advice both at the national and Central (European Medicines Agency, EMA) level. Since the beginning of 2018, Dr Granberg has transitioned to Novartis Research and Development, taking roles as Clinical Research Medical Advisor in Stockholm and lastly as the Translational Medicine Director within Neuroscience in Basel. She is currently located in the Headquarter of Novartis in Basel, Switzerland and designs Early Clinical Drug Development trials including First in Human and other profiling studies as well as Proof of Mechanism/Concept trials. Dr. Granberg is a member of the Turkish Pharmacology Association (TFD) and Executive Committee of the Clinical Pharmacology Working Group (KFÇG).

Associate Professor Volkan Aydın, MD, PhD

After graduating from Marmara University School of Medicine in 2006, Dr. Volkan Aydın completed PhD in the Department of Medical Pharmacology of the same university in 2018. Dr. Aydın’s areas of work include sub-branches of clinical pharmacology, with a particular focus of interest including pharmacoepidemiological studies, drug utilization studies, rational pharmacotherapy, pharmacovigilance, and the use of big data in health research. Dr. Aydın has been working as a faculty member of Istanbul Medipol University and an executive board member of Clinical Pharmacology Working Group (KFÇG) since 2020.

Associate Professor Zeynep Günes Özünal, MD

Dr. Özünal graduated from Beşiktaş Atatürk Anatolian High School in 1998 and from Istanbul Medical Faculty in 2004. She received her specialization in Medical Pharmacology from Istanbul Medical Faculty in 2010. She has been working as a teaching staff at Maltepe University Faculty of Medicine since February 2017. Dr. Özünal is a member of the Turkish Pharmacology Association (TFD) and a member of the TFD Clinical Pharmacology Working Group (KFÇG) Executive Board.
